Christina Johnson

Program Associate

CJ kid PictureMy favorite childhood book that I read over (and over and over and over) was: Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar

My hope for Oakland students is: That they will enjoy learning and thriving in school as much as I did.

Christina joined the Rogers Family Foundation as the Program Associate in October 2013. She is involved in all of the Foundation’s initiatives through her work, which includes maintaining grantee relationships, supporting grantmaking operations, and contributing to initiative programming and communications. Before joining the Foundation, she worked for Oakland-based Super Stars Literacy where she managed compliance and operations for their $1.3 million AmeriCorps grant. In her free time, she also volunteered for three semesters as a literacy tutor through Reading Partners in Oakland. In 2007 she received a bachelor’s degree in geography with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley. As a college student Christina spent time studying and volunteering abroad in South Africa, Russia, Bolivia, and Ecuador; she speaks Spanish and Russian. Christina serves on the Measure A Oversight Committee for Alameda Unified School District. She lives in Alameda with her husband and two sons.
